The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso, says she is aware of pending disputes for inadequate claims for compensation amounts for damaged property made to some residents after completion of the Monarch and Gerald infrastructure development projects. 

Answering a parliamentary question on March 18, Ms Tshireletso said her ministry was investigating the matter with a view to finalise it by end of May 2015.

Member of Parliament for Francistown West, Mr Ignatius Moswaane had asked the assistant minister if she was aware that the upgrading of Monarch and Gerald infrastructure development projects left some residents with pending disputes compensation for damaged property.

Mr Moswaane also wanted to know what the assistant minister would do to resolve the outstanding dispute between council authorities and residents. ENDS
