BIHL helps association

The Botswana Insurance Holding Limited (BIHL) Trust continues to fulfill its commitment to assisting the communities in which it operates.

BIHL Trust announced a partnership with the Tshwaragano Adventure Trust on March 17, where it donated P50 000 to Tshwaragano. The funds would go towards the Cancer Association of Botswana.

In a bid to raise funds for the association, two representatives of the Tshwaragano Adventure Trust, Moraki Mokgosana and Mahube Mpugwa will embark on a journey up the Mount Everest. Through this initiative, the trekkers aim to raise P250 000 for Cancer Association of Botswana.

BIHL Trust chairman, Major General Bakwena Oitsile said the Trust believed in supporting initiatives that contributed to the sustainable development of among others sports, social welfare and health platforms in Botswana.He noted that part of their history and future involved taking part in various levels within the health arena, one of which was in the fight against cancer especially with the escalating cases of cancer recorded in Botswana.

Major General Oitsile said with a long-standing commitment towards bettering the communities and the environment in which it operated, 2015 would continue to see an increasingly strong dedication to corporate social responsibility by the BIHL.

“Through the BIHL Trust, the BIHL and its subsidiaries will continue to assist more projects which create sustainable development in communities, with an anticipated growth in the value, number and make-up of projects being supported,” said Oitsile.

Meanwhile, Tshwaragano Adventure Trust representative, Mr Moraki Mokgosana said as a Trust, they are a group of ten professionals brought together by the love of sports. 

He said they have liaised with Cancer Association of Botswana in response to the escalating cancer cases in the country.Mr Mokgosana noted that the goal of assisting the Cancer Association of Botswana was the motivating factor to their journey up the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest. ENDS
