There was plan to build a sports complex in Ramotswa during NDP 8 alongside other district headquarters, but a decision was taken during NDP 9 to re-prioritize outstanding projects and Ramotswa was not included in the new plan.

Answering a question in Parliament, Minister of Labour and Home Affairs, Mr Edwin Batshu said the same happened to a number of other areas as well, adding that Ramotswa would be considered for a mini-stadium project as part of the ministry’s strategy to improve sporting facilities around the country.

Mr Batshu, who was answering on behalf of Minister of Youth, Sport and Culture, said he was not aware of the P60 million that was supposedly, previously allocated for the construction of a stadium in Ramotswa.

Ramotswa MP, Mr Samuel Rantuana, had whether the construction of a sport complex in Ramotswa is not due and what happened to the P60 million that was previously allocated to the construction of the stadium.  ENDS
