The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso, says councils with sub-districts disburse funds to their respective sub-districts in time.

Ms Tshireletso said her ministry considered consolidated budgets from all councils that had sub-districts. She said the budgeting process was such that once the ministerial ceiling had been determined, individual councils were allocated their budgets that included the revenue support grant and local revenue sources.

Nata/Gweta MP, Mr Polson Majaga had wanted to know when the minister would start to dispatch the Tutume Sub-district budget directly to Tutume instead of the current arrangement where the budget for the sub-district was dispatched through the Central District headquarters in Serowe, which he said, causes undue delays in the execution of programmes.
