Motovac donates to SOS villages
12 Mar 2015
Motor vehicle parts dealer, Motovac, has donated two cheques worth P10 000 each to Tlokweng and Serowe SOS Children Villages.
Motovac sales director, Mr Samir Patel said when handing the donations on March 10 that they saw it fit to extend a helping hand and give back to the community. Mr Patel said this was a way of helping the underprivileged children and to restore their hope.
He said last year, the company created a Facebook page to raise awareness of Motovac as well as promoting their intentions of giving back to the community. Mr Patel said they gave the community the opportunity to choose organisations that they would like Motovac to donate to and added that they have saved P20 000 to assist those in need at SOS.
He stated they have so far donated to communities in Botswana, Namibia and Mozambique communities and added that the company also has operations in South Africa. Furthermore, he added that Motovac would continue donating to other communities to help the less privileged.
Mr Patel encouraged those with the capability of giving back to the community to assist the less privileged no matter how small the donations would be.
SOS Education coordinator, Mr Bikie Morebodi from Serowe SOS appreciated Motovac for the donations, adding that their villages would use the money to help buy stationary, uniforms and food for children, as well as contributing to the day to day running costs of the two centers. ENDS
