Vacant post leads to congestion of cases
11 Mar 2015
The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development says congestion of cases at the Maun main kgotla is caused by the vacant post of chief representative who could be handling some of the cases.
Answering a question in Parliament, she said her ministry was in discussion with Batawana Tribal Administration to speed up filling of the post and also engage headmen of records from villages around Maun to assist in clearing the backlogs as and when necessary.
Maun East MP, Mr Kostantinos Markus had wanted the minister to state if she was aware of the congestion of cases at the Maun main kgotla, and whether she would consider some of the cases to be handled by the headmen of records within Maun so as to ease the congestion. ENDS
