08 Mar 2015
The Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Moiseraela Goya, has told Parliament that the education ministry is aware of the dilapidated condition of the science laboratories at Ditsweletse Junior Secondary School and that is why cyclic maintenance is ongoing to refurbish and maintain all the school buildings.
He said a shortage of science laboratories in any school could be contributory factor to students’ failure and the ministry was doing everything possible to speed up the renovation exercise in order to provide a conducive learning environment.
Boteti East MP, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe, had asked the minister if he was aware of the dilapidated condition of the science laboratories at Ditsweletse JSS that were long reported yet no refurbishments and maintenance have been carried out.
He asked him if he does not consider shortage of the laboratories as a contributory factor to the high rate of students’ failure in their exams. ENDS
