Speaking at the handing over of the donation, the regional manager, Norman Sebele said as CB Stores, they were responding to the needs of the community of their locality, adding that they opted for Maun Tigers as the team has long knocked on their door since last year, 2014 asking for assistance.
Mr Sebele said they were willing to do their level best in helping the community at large, adding that they first started by giving out vouchers, but now they were donating tracksuits.
“We are willing to have a long term partnership with Maun Tigers as these donations are still not enough and we as CB Stores have to do more than we have done now,” he noted.
Sebele further urged the team to use the partnership and the donation wisely as well taking as taking good care of the tracksuits.
The team’s chairperson, Obusitswe Ntirelang applauded CB Stores for opening their doors for them and meeting their needs, saying the donation would also help the team improve their performance.
Ntirelang encouraged the business community in Maun to do more to help improve sport in their region, noting that there were many challenges that football and other sports codes faced such as lack of transport and training facilities.
He also urged the general public in Maun not to support their team from a distance, but they should subscribe for membership cards and buy the team’s replica jerseys, saying this was the only way the team could make money
.
Furthermore, he pleaded with the media to always give attention to the First Division as well and help market their teams. ENDS
