No scarce skills allowance for nurses

Nurses are not included in the scarce skills allowance, the Minister of Health, Ms Dorcas Makgato, has said.
Ms Makgato told Parliament that her ministry was in discussions with the Department of Public Service Management with a view of improving working conditions of health care workers including the remuneration of nurses with post basic diplomas, in recognition of their extra qualifications.
Francistown East MP, Mr Buti Billy has asked the minister if she had any plans to classify some specialty skills in the nursing cadre as scarce, recognise and remunerate them in terms of the government scarce skills and retention allowance policy. ENDS
