Land board acts on undeveloped plots

04 Mar 2015

A total of 67 residential and 8 industrial plots remained undeveloped for more than five years at Sepitswane area in Ramotswa, Minister of Lands and Housing has said.

However, Mr Prince Maele said in Parliament that Malete Land Board had already planned to meet the respective plot holders in May this year, and it was only after that meeting that the Land Board may institute repossession of undeveloped plots.

He noted that as for the undeveloped arable farms in Llara, the Land Board had planned an inspection of the area and subsequent meeting with stakeholders in April this year.

He said this would determine the number of undeveloped plots and also chart the course of action. Ramotswa MP, Mr Samuel Rantuana had asked if the minister was aware of plots that had been undeveloped for more than five years at Sepitswane and Llara areas in Ramotswa.

He also asked what was being done about them since a lot of people had applied for plots on numerous occasions and were declined. ENDS
