Ghanzi hospital has 12 vehicles

02 Mar 2015

The Assistant Minister of Health, Dr Alfred Madigele, has informed Parliament that Ghanzi Primary Hospital is operating with 12 vehicles, two of which are ambulances while 10 are non-ambulance.

Dr Madigele said as of this week one, ambulance had gone for repair, leaving one ambulance on the ground. He said he was mindful that Ghanzi Primary Hospital at times borrowed an ambulance from the Department of Prisons when theirs were not available, “ for example when all the ambulance are on trip with a referred patient or are off the road”.

Ghanzi North MP, Mr Noah Salakae had wanted to know whether the minister was aware that Ghanzi Primary Hospital was currently operating with one vehicle borrowed from the Department of Prisons, and the reasons for the state of affairs against the high fleet of cars in the Ministry’s possession. ENDS
