Mining exhibition September

01 Mar 2015

The bi-annual Electra Mining Botswana, a mining exhibition billed for September 1-3 promises to be bigger with more local and international companies participating.

Following the success of the first exhibition in 2013, director of Soapbox Communications, the organisers of the event, Ms Vuyisiwa Mojela said this time around, major mining companies and secondary industries from across the globe have shown interest in participating this year.

She said Botswana was a major mining destination with companies involved in the exploration and mineral extraction; hence a number of investors are interested in showcasing their companies in the country and build business networks.

Ms Mojela said many exhibitors from the inaugural show have already signed for this year’s event, adding she continued to promote it through international similar events.

Exhibitors come from various industries amongst them mining and related products, industrial engineering and manufacturing, electrical engineering, materials handling, safety, health and environment and construction. She urged visitors especially the youths to look for entrepreneurial opportunities instead of employment as some exhibitors look for local companies to market and sell their products.

Visitors coming to the exhibition, which is to be held at the Gaborone Fairgrounds includes analysts, foremen, engineers, general and mine managers, loss control managers, metallurgists, production managers, procurement managers, quality controllers safety managers and technicians. ENDS
