Rotary Club America donates P30 000

20 Mar 2013

Rotary Club America via Gaborone Rotary Club presented a P30 000 cheque and toys worth P8 500 to Motlhabaneng Pre- School on March 16.

The money was a gift from the club, which raised it while visiting Mashatu Game Reserve in 2009.

Speaking at the event, Mrs Rose Serema of Gaborone Rotary Club said the funds were to be used to improve the learning environment for children.

She said their first priority as Rotary Club was to help the poor and the needy at all times. The toys would encourage children to come to school and help them to learn.

She continued to say the school would remain a beacon of remembrance that there were some children in need.

Ms Serema advised Motlhabaneng V.D.C to use the money wisely as this would boost them to do more, noting that “hopefully this money is not landing in the wrong hands”.

The chairperson of Motlhabaneng Village Development Committee, Mr Koketso Tshabalala thanked the benefactors and promised the children will soon be learning in well refurbished classrooms.

He said they would work hard and tirelessly together with the community of Motlhabaneng to make sure that the school was back in operation in a very short time. ENDS
