23 Feb 2015
The Ministry of Health has no plans to upgrade Mokgoro clinic in Dukwi village to a 24 hour facility with a maternity wing. Assistant Minister of Health Dr Alfred Madigele told Parliament that there is no plan in NDP 10 to upgrade Mokgoro clinic to a clinic with maternity.
Dr Madigele was responding to a question from Nata/Gweta MP, Mr Polson Majaga had asked if the ministry will consider upgrading Mokgoro clinic in Dukwi village to a 24 hour facility with a maternity wing as a result of the increasing number of people from surrounding village that the clinic services.
The Assistant minister said on average Mokgoro clinic sees 32 patients, 12 child welfare clinics and 16 IDCC patients per day. Dr Madigele further said Dukwi has two clinics, Mokgoro clinic and Dukwi clinic which is a clinic with maternity. “The two facilities are able to provide the necessary health care services to Dukwi community,” he said.
