Service centre in need of resources
23 Feb 2015
Parliament has heard that Sojwe Service Centre was currently not operational due to resource constraints. Responding to a question the Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Mr Frans Van Der Westhuizen said currently there is a Social and Community Development Officer, Matimela Officer and a Public Health Assistant based in Sojwe to provide service to the community.
He said other government departments servicing the centre include crop production, veterinary services, tribal administration and clinics.
He said the District Commissioner’s office, Omang and Immigration departments would also from next month start a mobile service on a monthly basis.
Letlhakeng-Lephephe MP Mr Liakat Kablay had asked the minister if he was aware that Sojwe Service Centre has not been operational and why it took long. ENDS
