Bank Gaborone warns against fraudulent scam

Bank Gaborone informs its clients to ignore emails purportedly from the bank, requesting them to update their online login details by clicking on a link.

According to a press statement from the bank, these fraudulent e-mails are phishing scams, hence the need for clients or any recipients to ignore and delete the e-mail communication.

The release states that, clients should also not click on website links attached to these emails and are further advised that when conducting banking transactions through Internet Banking, there was the risk of a fraudster accessing one’s information online.

Therefore, the bank urges its customers to always make sure their computer, laptop, cell phone or tablet’s anti-virus, spyware and firewall protection are active and up- to-date.

Bank Gaborone clients are also notified that the bank will never request clients to provide their personal details or update their account profiles through e-mail communication.
