Generators operate until midnight at Khwee
19 Feb 2015
Generators at Khwee Primary School operate from 5am until 7am when employees are still at home and from 3pm until 10pm when employees were not at work during week days.
The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso told Parliament that on weekends and during holidays they operate from 2pm until midnight, adding that the operating hours were agreed between the school management and the employees.
She, however, said there was a provision for special occasions such as printing examination papers during which operation goes beyond stipulated hours.
Boteti East MP, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe had wanted to know if the minister was aware that the generator at Khwee Primary School operated at night only between 4pm and 11pm.
He also asked if the generator could be operated during the day especially on weekends since it was connected to staff houses as this would provide electricity and motivate staff. ENDS
