Ministry re-sponsors students

The Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Dr Unity Dow, has told Parliament that the ministry has for the past three academic years re-sponsored 4 693 students and rejected 470 for the academic year 2012/13.
In 2013/14 academic year, 2 416 were re-sponsored while 1 332 were rejected and in the academic year 2014/15 3 693 were re-sponsored and 5 225 rejected.
She explained that the ministry did not categorise repeats and retakes as students in both cases were repeating failed subjects, instead they both fall under re-sponsorship.Francistown South MP, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi had asked the ministry to state the number of students who were sponsored for repeats and retakes respectively in the last three academic years in all local tertiary institutions and those who were rejected.
