Ralotsia acknowledges Sebele water loss
17 Feb 2015
The Ministry of Agriculture has acknowledged the challenge of water loss at Sebele, which is due to old pipelines that need to be rehabilitated.
Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Mr Patrick Ralotsia told Parliament that in March 2010 a project to rehabilitate the water and sewage system at Sebele was started, but was stalled due to disagreement with the contractor leading to a court case which ended in December last year.
He said alternative efforts were still being made to complete the project while his ministry continues to repair and maintain the system to reduce water loss.
Gaborone North legislator , Mr Haskins Nkaigwa had asked if the minister was aware that government continued to lose a lot of water at Sebele farms as underground pipes are leaking all over the farm despite numerous reports to relevant stakeholders.
