DML mine builds house for needy person

Toteng-based DML mine recently undertook a ground breaking ceremony for a house they are building for Ms Kemosedile Lenthabile.
Speaking during the ceremony, Mr Puso Akanyang, the project coordinator commended DML employees that despite the challenges that the mine had been going through, they managed to give back to the Toteng community.
Mr Akanyang said the project was an answer to the President’s call to build houses for the needy. “The project started after a sponsored walk that was conducted by stakeholders in October, 2014, and we managed to raise P85 000 for the construction of the house, fencing and stand pipe connection,” Mr Akanyang said.
For her part, Ms Tshepo Lebala, the village social worker praised DML Company for the good job well done for the community. She noted that the village had about 59 destitute persons with different needs.
The DML process manager and acting general manager, Mr Morrison Shongwe said the company was happy to be part of the project, adding that people need to live dignified lives by staying in safe and secure places.
He pleaded with the community of Toteng to assist other needy people and continue what the DML Company has started. For her part, Ms Lenthabile thanked everyone involved in building her a house and encouraged them to also assist other needy people. ENDS
