No subsidies for remote area teams

Government does not provide any form of subsidies for teams that participate in national leagues, Minister of Youth, Sport and Culture, Mr Thapelo Olopeng had said.
Such teams, he explained, were independent clubs that were affiliated to sport associations and benefitted from support accorded to all members of those leagues.
Mr Olopeng was responding to Member of Parliament for Maun West, Mr Tawana Moremi who had wanted the minister to state subsidies government had put in place to sustain teams from remote areas who participate in national leagues like Sankoyo Bush Bucks and Maun Tigers football clubs. ENDS
