Official urges TSPs to be resolute

Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture (MYSC), through the Botswana National Service Programme (BNSP) in Francistown hosted a five-day workshop for all enrolled participants to empower them on character building.

Speaking during a workshop held at Chedu Choga hall recently, district youth coordinator, Ms Minkie Bokole said their aim was to foster positive behaviour among the Tirelo Sechaba participants and instill a sense of responsibility and accountability amongst the youth.

She noted that the expectation was having gone through the BNSP young people would have positive work ethics and attitudes that would enable them to make a difference in their own lives.

Ms Bokole said the workshop would also provide lifelong skills for participants, develop good work ethics, as well as inculcate discipline, commitment, good behaviour and accountability among Tirelo Sechaba participants.

She encouraged them to interact and socialise with each through the entire workshop themed:My Character, My Responsibility.

For his part, Botswana Defence Force, Chaplain Major Tshepo Scotch stimulated participants to have a deeper knowledge and ability on what they do.

He explained in depth a resilience topic to the participants so that they have the ability to recover from their setbacks

Major Scotch encouraged participants to stand and face all challenges coming their way.

In addition, he said there were areas of life where young people ended up doing things that did not bring peace to them and urged them to remain resolute.

Furthermore, he urged the participants to explore their skills and abilities and be patriotic to their country. Major Scotch stated that knowledge is power and called for young people to always seek knowledge in whatever they engage in. ENDS
