16 plots undeveloped in Francistown
10 Feb 2015
There are 16 plots in the four commercial centres of Phase 5, Ntshe, Monarch and Selepa which were allocated between 1995 and 2006 and they remain undeveloped to date.
Answering a question in Parliament, Minister of Lands and Housing, Mr Prince Maele, said in addition, 13 plots at Monarch had been withdrawn from previous owners and to date these plots had not been re-allocated.
He further said action towards repossession of the 16 undeveloped plots has been initiated with a view to making them available for re-allocation to prospective developers.
Minister Maele was answering a question from MP for Francistown West, Mr Ignatius Moswaane who had asked the Minister if he was aware that some commercial plots were allocated some fifteen years ago in Francistown in areas such as Phase 5, Ntshe, Monarch and Selepa local centres but up to now the plots have not been developed to meet the community development’s plan.
He had also wanted how will the Minister remedy the situation. ENDS
