No plans to upgrade Gulubane Health Post
08 Feb 2015
Assistant Minister of Health, Dr Alfred Madigele says his ministry does not have any plans to upgrade Gulubane Health Post to a clinic with maternity wing as the population and outpatient statistics do not warrant it.
Answering a question from Tati West MP, Mr Biggie Butale, the assistant minister said maternity services are provided for through Makaleng Clinic, which is 16 km away. “However, considering that the population of Gulubane is 797 its facility qualifies to be a clinic without maternity,” he said.
He said unfortunately the upgrading has not been done due to financial constraints and will be upgraded together with other health posts once funds are available. The Tati West MP had asked the minister when Gulubane Health Post would be upgraded to a clinic with a maternity wing. ENDS
