Nato returns to GU

Atletico Madrid player, Ofentse Nato, has signed a six months deal with his former club Gaborone United.
Nato joined the Spanish club last year on a two-year agreement with Bidvest Wits. The Spanish club then transferred him temporarily to Atletico de Kolkata in the Indian Premier League from October to December where he won the Indian Super league with the club.
He was supposed to return to Atletico but due to processing of work permits in Spain, which takes between three and six months, he would have to wait before re-joining his club.
Upon arrival at Madrid from India, Size 10 was expected to be loaned out to smaller Spanish teams or even play for Atletico’s B-team.
Gaborone United secretary general, Herbert Letsebe, said they were waiting for FIFA’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC) but they could not guarantee success because of some requirements they had to meet. He said Nato would be joining GU as a free agent and he could be signed even outside the transfer window.
Letsebe said Nato could not wait for six months without playing therefore he decided to come back home and re-join his former club on a temporary deal. “He is still an Atletico Madrid player but if the deal goes well, we will try to capitalise from the time we are going to have with him” he said.
Nato, who joined Atletico from Bidvest Wits in South Africa, spent last season on loan at Mpumalanga Black Aces. Nato left GU in 2012 after spending four years at the club. ENDS
