The Ministry of Trade and Industry is not aware that the European Union has refused to release money for the food processing plant in Selebi Phikwe nor of the request of P14, Parliament has been informed.

Responding to a question Mr Vincent Seretse said he therefore could not advance any reasons why they will not release the funds.MP for Selebi Phikwe West Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse had asked the minister to state the reason advanced by EU on why they would not release the P14 million for the food processing plant in Selebi Phikwe.

However Minister Seretse stated that equipment for the processing plant has been procured and refurbishment of the warehouse is ongoing through funding secured from the poverty Eradication Programme.He said the refurbishment is expected to be complete by the end of February 2015 following which the equipment will be installed.
