Government has no plans to tar the Jwaneng-Sese road, which connects Sese and Jwaneng, and runs parallel to the Kanye-Jwaneng A2 road.

Responding to a parliamentary question, Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Tshenolo Mabeo however said there was an alternative 3km access road connecting Sese to the Kanye-Jwaneng A2 road.

He said this road would be upgraded to bitumen standard during the rehabilitation and improvement of the Kanye-Jwaneng road which was funded under the Output and Performance based Road Contract (OPRC), Package 1 project.

Mr Mabeo said the detailed design of the Kanye-Jwaneng road including the 3km Sese access road was completed in November 2014.“Implementation of this project will commence in May 2015 for duration of two years and will be completed in May 2017.

This upgrade will facilitate easy access between Sese village and Jwaneng Township,” said the Minister.MP for Jwaneng-Mabutsane, Mr Shawn Nthaile had wanted to know when the said road would be tarred. ENDS
