No plans to upgrade Mokubilo Health Post
04 Feb 2015
Government has no plans to upgrade Mokubilo Health Post to a 24-hour clinic with maternity as the population and outpatient statistics do not warrant the upgrading.
Responding to a question posed by Boteti East MP, Mr Setlhomo Lelatisitswe in Parliament on February 3, Assistant Minister of Health, Dr Alfred Madigele said the Mokubilo health post however had an ambulance and a midwife who provided sexual and reproductive health services and also attended to any emergency cases.
He said currently maternity cases were referred t to Letlhakane and Nyangabwe hospitals which are 100 and 117 Km away respectively.
Further he said Mokubilo and surrounding areas are covered by a doctor from Letlhakane on outreach basis who comes on a weekly basis while accommodation is being sought.Meanwhile Dr Madigele said there were plans to upgrade the health post to a clinic but that has not happened because of financial constraints.
