04 Feb 2015

The growth of Sekgele Training Home Society (STHS) and Tshidilo Stimulation Centres has been attributed to partnerships and the good working relationship between various organisations.

Through partnership, various organisations had accessed the skills, services and resources necessary to accomplish their mission.

Speaking at a three day staff induction workshop recently, the Okavango Sub District Council chairperson, Mr Anderson Kambimba said partners such as the Rehabilitation Office, District Health Team, Thuso Rehabilitation Centre and others had been important particularly to the achievement of sensitisation, advocacy, education and training as well as the economic empowerment of People Living with Disabilities (PLWDs).

He also applauded the STHS, which he said had started from nothing to become a fully-fledged centre with various professionals aimed at improving the lives of PLWDs.

During the workshop, employees of the two centres had the opportunity to be inducted on corruption and economic crime, policy guidelines for nongovernmental organisations, roles and responsibilities of board of governors.ENDS
