Region to start women youth leagues
03 Feb 2015
The Central South Region Football Association (CSRFA) chairperson, Kaizer Sekaba, says they are planning to start youth and women football leagues in April.
In an interview, Sekaba said this was resolved in a workshop organsed by Botswana Football Association (BFA) together with CSRFA members in Serowe recently.
He said during the workshop regions were encouraged to focus on youth development and to start women’s football as well as to motivate women to venture into match officiating as well as football administration.
The youth league, he said, would consist of boys and girls teams playing in separate leagues. He noted that both tournaments, the women and youth leagues would be under the current affiliates whereas some of them will be independent.
Sekaba said in the last weekend of March, the region will host an orientation for youth players and referees so that players can know what to expect when the league starts.
However, he said the region has not yet secured a sponsor for the league, but it would start, adding that BFA would help. ENDS
