Mokaila attends Dubai Diamond Conference 2013
18 Mar 2013
Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources (MEWR), Mr Kitso Mokaila left on March 16 to attend the Dubai Diamond Conference 2013.
According to a press release from MEWR, the conference will afford the minister an opportunity to network with the world’s leaders in the diamond industry as Dubai is the home of over 600 regional and international diamond and precious gems companies.
Dubai Diamond Exchange is an international diamond trading and value adding platform that significantly provides a gateway between diamond producing countries, the major production centres and the emerging consuming markets of the region, the release says.
It further states that looking at the DTC International relocation to Gaborone, the conference will provide a platform for a new silk route for diamonds produced in Africa, to Dubai where they will find their destination to polishing centres in India and China. The conference ends on March 19. ENDS
