Vantage Properties cuts niche in market 8232

29 Jan 2015

Vantage Properties has launched an inaugural property report, which is expected to provide developers with well researched data on property, its market dynamics and performance.

The report, which is the first of its kind in the country, provided an overview of the past global and economic trends that had impact in the property market.

Launching the report in Gaborone on Tuesday, Vantage Properties founder and chief executive officer, Ms Sethebe Manake said she conceptualised the idea in 2008 upon realising a need in the property market, that there was acute shortage of concrete information on property which led to developers, financiers and individuals working on suppositions when making property investment decisions.

“We want the report to give anyone sitting in any meeting trying to convince another person to finance their development, create a new product for investment in Botswana, to relocate their business to Botswana or just simply to invest in Botswana to have the information to back up their story,” she said.

Furthermore, Ms Manake said the report will serve as a considerable information material as opportunities unfold. “There is in excess of 200 Billion US Dollars earmarked for investment in Africa, this is our bus to infrastructure development of schools, hospitals, roads and bridges, it is time for us to see amazing funding structures, investment mechanisms,” she said.

She said the 2014 report which is expected to cover all regions of the country is a collection of information from an array of sources and can be acquired through subscriptions the highest subscription package being P18 500 per annum.

In an interview, she said key report findings shows that there are ample opportunities in Botswana’s property market, but financiers are not well aligned to the needs of property market because of the existing information gap.

Property pundit, Mr Victor Sennye said in any country, property forms the heartbeat of an economy and government spending has largely supported the property market. ENDS
