Princess Marina Hospital has acknowledged recent allegations of negligence circulated in print and social media.

A press release from the hospital stated that the hospital management took the allegations seriously and thus instituted investigations on the matter.

On Friday night (January 23), the management first contacted Mr Gontle Kwelo who posted on his facebook account and was accorded appointment on January 26 to get his side of the story.

The release further stated that all the concerned staff members had been consulted on this matter and if the undergoing investigations show negligence, appropriate action will be taken. “The hospital management would like to inform the general public that investigation will be concluded soon following a due process,” it stated.

According to the release, the hospital would not divulge names of patients admitted in the institution or their relatives to third parties since it would be a breach of confidentiality clause as stated in the patients’ charter. ENDS
