Lacklustre performance worries Sankoyo coach

26 Jan 2015

Sankoyo Bush Bucks head coach, Philani Mabhena, has expressed disappointment over his team’s performance against FC Satmos on Saturday afternoon (January 24) despite the teams’ 2-1 win.

In an interview after the match, he said though he was happy with the result, the team’s general performance was not up to expectation during the entire game. In addition, he said his side appeared to have taken Satmos for granted from the beginning of the first half.

Mabhena said they had to change the system after second half and the boys managed score the first goal in the 57th minute through their newly signed striker, Thero Setsile. He said another contributing factor to the teams’ poor performance could be a couple of injuries on some of their key players.

Despite its shaky performance, Ngurungu was rewarded with a penalty in the 70th minute which was easily converted by Morris Ruzivo.

The two goals seemed to have revived the morale of the supporters that was short lived as Satmos silenced them in the 72nd minute through Mogakolodi Balatotse’s goal. Satmos’s goal injected a lot of momentum in the players as they started piling pressure on the Ngurungu defence creating chances that they failed to convert into goals.

Meanwhile Satmos head coach, Kgosietsile Jacob said his boys let it sleep and their opponent totalized on their mistakes.  He said his boys had so many chances but failed to hit the net.

He said although their performance was not bad noting that they had just assembled a new team and currently they are working on the combination. Jacob said some of their players are new in the premier league and hoped they would cope as time goes on. ENDS
