Accident claims four lives

Four people died after a Toyota Allex car they were travelling in collided head-on with a seven ton Nissan truck on Thursday morning (January 22) along A3 road.
Francistown traffic officer, Superintendent Alison Mbaiwa stated that they were investigating the cause of the accident, which occurred around 6:20am, three kilometres from Francistown.
He said the Toyota Allex, which had three passengers and a driver, was coming from Francistown and heading west while the truck was heading east to Francistown.
Supt Mbaiwa said all the four in the Toyota Allex were certified dead at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital (NRH). He said the deceased were the 42-year-old driver, his 39-year old wife, a 48-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman.
Supt Mbaiwa stated that the truck driver aged 32 years sustained minor injuries and was treated at the hospital and discharged the same day. ENDS
