Puso asks dikgosi to raise house profile

Ntlo ya Dikgosi chairperson, Kgosi Puso has encouraged dikgosi to work hard and produce quality debates that will be relevant to the needs of the nation.
In his acceptance speech after being re-elected chairperson for the sixth time on January 19, Kgosi Puso noted that as was procedure, some bills would be referred to the house and therefore dikgosi should use the opportunity to produce quality output that would benefit the country.
Ntlo ya Dikgosi is a traditional fortress that preserves and promotes culture, tradition and customs. Kgosi Puso therefore encouraged dikgosi to strive for dignity and to have positive energy, also motivating them to come up with quality advice at all times to raise the profile of the house.
In a special meeting convened to elect Ntlo ya Dikgosi leadership, Kgosi Lotlamoreng II of Borolong beat two other nominees; Kgosi Tshipe Tshipe of Mahalapye and Kgosi Oreagetse Machilidza of Boteti to become deputy chairperson. Kgosi Lotlamoreng II won by 15 votes against Kgosi Tshipe with 11 votes while Kgosi Machilidza got eight votes. All the 34 dikgosi voted and there were no spoilt ballots.
Kgosi Puso said he was humbled and grateful for being re-elected chairperson saying the move showed that other dikgosi had trust and confidence in his leadership. He promised that together with his deputy, they would continue the good work with other leaders and stakeholders to strive for dignity and positive outcome for the country. ENDS
