09 Jan 2015

Gae lame theatre group has donated a toilet and toiletry to Ms Motswaki Masilo of Bobonong recently.

Speaking at the donation in Bobonong, Gae lame theatre group coordinator, Mr Mpho Kelefithetse said the mandate of the donation is in conjunction with one of the vision 2016 pillars of becoming a compassionate, just and caring nation.

He noted that the President’s mission of eradicating poverty among families is gradually bearing fruit as a lot of profit making and non profit making organisations are taking part.

Mr Kelefithetse highlighted that they have seen it important to extend a helping hand to Ms Masilo as she is staying with a child living with disability . He said they built the toilet through the money they won in 2013 at the constituency competitions held in Bobirwa.

Mr Kelefithetse explained that they managed to acquire building materials like bricks, sand door and corrugated iron from different people in the community. Gae lame theatre group comprises of 15 unemployed youth and the group earns a living through performing at various occasions.

For his part, Ms Lucia Madome also thanked the group for seeing it important to build the toilet for Ms Masilo who is one of the people affected by abject poverty. She said the group should continue with the good spirit of giving throughout the Bobirwa district.

For his part, Ms Motswaki Masilo said even though she received the donations there is still more to be done as she is unemployed and her life situation could not even allow her to work with Ipelegeng and one of the challenges she is faced with is lack of  a standpipe .

“Where I get water is far from my homestead as I have to travel long distance everyday,” she noted. However she thanked Gae lame theatre group for the gesture. ENDS
