Letlapeng has appointed Daniel ‘Chicco’ Nare as their new head coach on a three-year deal.
Letlapeng chairman, Sidney Magagane confirmed on Monday, January 5 that the former BMC, Extension Gunners and Maletamotse boss has replaced Nelson Olebile who was relieved of his duties last week after a poor run of results.
In an interviewe, Magagane said Letlapeng management has tasked Nare with galvanizing the struggling squad and steering it away from relegation.
The Ramotswa based club, promoted to the top-flight for the first time in its history last year, is currently bottom of the beMOBILE Premier League with 8 points. They have won two, drawn two, and lost 11 of their 15 matches first round matches.
“We have given him (Nare) the mandate of making sure that the team survives in the Premier League. We are only six points below the team in position ten, and I fully believe that we can survive,” said Magagane.
The chairman pointed that assistant coach Matshediso Moseki has been retained as part of Nare’s backroom staff. Nare will however, be allowed to bring a new goalkeeper coach.
Nare is Letlapeng’s third coach this season. Thaloba Nthaga, who guided the team to the Premier League, was sacked four matches into the season in September last year.
Nare replaced Enos Mmesi as BMC head coach in February 2011 and guided the Lobatse club to three successive top-eight finishes between 2011 and 2013.
In the 2011/12 season Ezinkomo achieved their highest ever finish in the top flight, ending the season in second place, but 20 points behind run-away champions Mochudi Centre Chiefs.
Nare leaves BMC sitting in third place, nine points behind leader Township Rollers. ENDS
