Khama appreciates Batswana's compassion
24 Dec 2014
The President, Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama, has thanked Batswana for their compassionate spirit during the festive season.
In his Christmas message, the President said it was evident throughout the year that Batswana continued to contribute towards charitable causes.
He called on the nation to carry this spirit during the festive season. “So, whilst Christmas is a time of love and giving, as we celebrate, let us also think of those who live with difficulties, be they sick, disabled or poor, that we help them to better their lives,” he said.
President Khama paid tribute to people who would not be able to celebrate the holidays with their families due to duty. He further appealed to the nation to travel safely and celebrate responsibly in a manner that would not compromise others' safety.
“Let us make our new year’s resolutions, include in them a desire to live the life that the three constitutions that govern us encompass,” he said. ENDS
