22 Dec 2014
Letshego Financial Services has recently donated night dresses and pyjamas worth P7 000 to patients at Scottish Livingstone Hospital in Molepolole.
The donation, which was spearheaded by the hospital advisory committee, included 90 night dresses for male patients, 89 for females and 14 pyjamas for children.
The hospital advisory chairperson, Mr Mpho Laolang stated that he was happy that when they knocked on Letshego doors for help, they assisted. Mr Laolang pointed out that apart from Letshego they were once given 50 blankets by Free Church and 90 by the Muslim community.
He however said that the biggest challenge they faced in the hospital, was lack of television which could be a significant tool to spread important messages to the community visiting the hospital.
He therefore called upon the local media more importantly television to cover their events especially for donations stating that it would make the community to be aware of such donations. The hospital acting matron, Ms Portia Seduledi applauded Letshego for giving back to the community.
When handing over the donations, Letshego Financial Services representative, Ms Mmapula Kablay said they pride themselves in giving back to the community rather than taking especially when it comes to hospitals.
Every year, she said they do projects that include giving back to the community. Ms Kablay noted that before the hospital advisory committee knocked on their door, she had observed that the hospital had shortage of blankets and clothing. She stated that they then decided to donate clothing rather than blankets.
Meanwhile, the hospital manager, Mr Abednico Mafoko thanked Letshego for their donation and said they should be handled with care. Mr Mafoko stated that they had been experiencing shortage of materials in the hospital which also include linen. Ends
