Stabinc Bank encourages clean environment

21 Dec 2014

Stanbic Bank has handed over 20 rubbish bins to the office of the deputy district commissioner for Palapye, Ms Veronica Rabakane.

Handing over the rubbish bins, Stanbic Bank representative, Mr Otaathusa Mojiwa said the bank saw it appropriate to plough back to the community by ensuring that the community lived in a safe and clean environment.

Mr Mojiwa said the bank did not portray itself as a profit making financial institution but as part of Palapye community hence the move to honour the district administration’s request for rubbish bins.

Ms Rabakane said expressed her gratitude to Stanbic bank for responding positively to her request for provision of rubbish bins. She said she made the request to several companies in Palapye and commended Stanbic for being the first to respond.

She said the reason for her request for dustbins was because the Rural Administration Centre (RAC) had a serious challenge of shortage of rubbish bins thus its surroundings were always untidy.

She said six of the 20 bins would be placed at RAC, two at Palapye main kgotla whilst 12 would be placed at institutional houses allocated to public Service employees. About 43 institutional houses had no rubbish bins.

For her part tribal administration authority official, Ms Kgalalelo Porati applauded Stanbic Bank for their effort in helping the community and encouraged them to continue with the good spirit of giving. Ms Porati urged other companies to follow suit.  ENDS
