18 Dec 2014
Chobe-based staff of the Ministry of Health recently donated a house to Mr Gaenyatswe Basiamang of Kazungula-New stance.
The project, which was driven by Weigh-Bridge and Kazungula clinic staff ,was built to the tune of P40 000.
Speaking at the donation, the Minister of Health, Ms Dorcas Makgato thanked all those who had taken part in the project, saying they had demonstrated team spirit.
She noted that so far, her ministry had built four houses across the country with the Kazungula one bringing them to five. Ms Makgato advised Mr Basiamang to ensure that no one cheated him of his new house.
Head of Chobe District Health Management Team, Dr John Makuka, explained that Mr Basiamang was the recipient of the house after medical staff had seen him carrying his food with him to the clinic.
“When asked why he was doing that, he said that he had no place to store his food as it always got stolen,” Dr Makuka said. With the help of the local council, they made up their mind to built him a house. For his part, Mr Basiamang thanked all those who built him the house saying they restored his dignity. ENDS
