Shoshong attracts investors

Government will continue to attract both domestic and foreign investments, says Assistant Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Sadique Kebonang.
Speaking during the Shoshong constituency investment promotion show held over the weekend, Mr Kebonang said government would support the growth of promotional shows. Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration and also Shoshong legislator, Mr Phillip Makgalemele said the constituency had the potential to attract investors.
Back in the 1800s, Mr Makgalemele said, Shoshong was well known hence they would make efforts to sell the constituency to the business world. Since the start of the Shoshong constituency investment promotion show in 2010, he said there had been a tremendous transformation as investors setting up in the village.
Already, he said there was Choppies store while Shoppers and other tourism related business such as the Botswana Football Museum would soon set up in the village. He said he was worried that Shoshong was closer to the railway line and A1 road, yet there were no tangible developments.
Also, he said cooperatives were important to tap from adding that they would like spearhead the idea of starting cooperatives in the district. Mr Makgalemele said cooperatives were ideal to deal with poverty. ENDS
