Barclays Bank has honoured 33 employees in the northern region for their dedication and long service.
Speaking at the award ceremony in Francistown on December 12, the bank’s managing director, Ms Reinette van der Merwe said the awards were an important component of the bank’s overall employee recognition efforts.
She said what the employees did was nothing less than the embodiment of passion, dedication, loyalty and perseverance. Ms van der Merwe said the bank would never forget the employees’ marvelous job because they set an excellent model to their colleagues.
She explained that the trophies and certificates the employees received were a sign of the humble appreciation for their stewardship. The managing director noted that it was through their tireless work that the bank managed to achieve its strategic objectives over the years.
She thanked the employees for contributing towards helping the bank through its robust citizenship agenda to cultivate a culture of financial management across the country.
Francistown main branch manager, Ms Sarah Moitoi commended the employees, saying their contribution resulted in Barclays becoming one of the leading banks in the country during its 64 year of existence.
Ms Moitoi implored the award recipients to encourage their colleagues, who joined later in the years by taking them through the journeys, joys and hardships they encountered while working for the bank. “Encourage them to hang on, to be steadfast and tell them it helps to keep focused and stay put,” she said.
At the same event, Ms Elizabeth Diseko, who is an operations manager at Serowe branch, was awarded for her 35 years of service followed by 10 other employees who received awards for 25 years of service.
Other employees were awarded for serving the bank for 20, 15, 10 and five years respectively. ENDS
