Golden star gives back to community

15 Dec 2014

Golden star funeral parlour organised a Christmas party on Decemebr 10 for 30 needy children as part of their social responsibility gesture to give back to the community, which they operate from.

The manager of Golden star, Ms Corrinna Pineda, said they had a soft spot for children hence they felt the need to do something special for them.
She said they had been organising Christmas parties for children such as the one for the past six years and intent to continue doing so.

Ms Pineda emphasised the importance of making children happy at times like these more so that those in need might feel left behind while others celebrate.
She added that they were also answering a call by President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama to restore dignity for other Batswana that are in need.

Golden star manager also said the children would be taken to Gaborone where they would have lunch and later tour the city’s landmarks and malls so that they familiarise themselves with infrastructure development in the capital.

She said the children would receive Christmas presents so that a smile remains that befits any other child that need to be happy.

“Even as Vision 2016 pillar of being “a compassionate, just and caring nation” stipulates, we are obliged to respond positively to the pillar so that by 2016, the vision can be achieved, “said Pineda. ENDS
