71 university employees leave in three years

The Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Dr Unity Dow, has said 71 employees left University of Botswana between 2011 and 2014 for various reasons amongst them retirement, end of fixed term contracts and voluntary resignation.
She said of the 71 employees, 51 were academic and 20 were support staff, representing a turnover of 5 and 1 per cent respectively.
Selebi Phikwe West MP, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse, had asked the minister to state the number of academic and support staff of the University of Botswana who have resigned since 2011 and the reasons given. ENDS
