Over 1 900 plots surveyed in Ghanzi

A total of 1 931 plots were surveyed in Ghanzi between August and September 2006, of which 1 729 were residential, 117 industrial and seven commercial blocks, Parliament has been told.
Answering a question in Parliament on Wednesday, Minister of Lands and Housing, Mr Lebonaamang Mokalake said from 2008, his ministry has allocated 518 plots from the surveyed plots across different uses.
Such land uses included 516 residential, seven high income low, 18 high income medium, 48 high income small, 237 medium income upper and 206 Botswana Housing Corporation, two commercial and no industrial.
He was responding to a question from Kgalagadi North MP, Mr Phillip Khwae, who wanted the minister to state when last the surveying of plots was carried out in Ghanzi township.
He also wanted the minister to state how many residential, commercial and industrial plots were demarcated and how many of these have been allocated to date. ENDS
