Moshupa Sub council chairperson, Mr Benjamin Mogodi says team spirit is the answer to the many aspirations of electorate as well as to take  the Sub-district to a high level of development.

Mr Mogodi who is also a councillor for Moshupa South said this recently to mark the commencement of Moshupa Sub Council session.

He reminded councillors that having been voted from a pool of other equally deserving candidates during the October general election was a challenge to councillors to prove their worth.

“The electorates have elected us from among a pool of many others, therefore let us not be a letdown on our journey,” he said.

To achieve the feat, the Sub-council chairperson called on fellow councillors to network with various stakeholders and regularly consult with them for the common good .

He also put it to councillors that as the sub-council, the work they do was delegated to them by the Southern District Council and therefore charged with the responsibility to implement the mandate of the council through submission of consolidated quarterly reports.

On other issues, Mr Mogodi reminded the full sub-council that Ipelegeng programme’s primary purpose was to provide economic relief to Batswana.

Councillor Mogodi also reminded both central and local government staff to expedite the procurement processes and implementation of planned projects which were behind schedule especially that the financial year was about to end in the next quarter.

For his part deputy chairperson for the Sub-district, Mr Peter Sethibe who is also a councillor for Manyana promised fellow councillors that he would work hard to take Moshupa Sub district to another level.

He concurred with Councillor Mogodi saying unity was strength which will enalbe the councillors and civil servants to develop the sub-council.

“We should move away from strife that is brought about by fighting for positions and greed thereby leaving electorate in the lurch,” he said. ENDS
