Industrial Court donates to Nyangabwe patients 8232
09 Dec 2014
Francistown Industrial Court has embarked on donating toiletries to Nyangabwe Referral Hospital (NRH) patients.
Speaking during the donation event, chairperson of social welfare committee from industrial court, Mr Gagoitsewe Tshupelo said they chose NRH mainly because of the large number of patients admitted from different places in the northern region.
Mr Tshupelo stated that they had realised that some of those patients came from families that were not well off and hence could not afford to buy themselves the toiletries that they needed. He said some patients were admitted as an emergency thus not having enough time to access shops.
Mr Tshupelo said the reason why they bought toiletries was because in hospitals patients were provided with meals, so they found it appropriate to provide toiletries such as bath soap, sanitary towels, toothbrushes, toothpastes, petroleum jelly and face cloths.
Furthermore, he said they had decided to donate at this time of the year because people were admitted in large numbers. He said the Industrial Court`s mandate was to resolve trade disputes, therefore support the 2016 pillar of ‘Á compassionate and Just a Caring Nation’.
When receiving donations, on behalf of the hospital management, the Chief Administration Officer Mr Kealotswe Keneetswe appreciated the immeasurable work that the Industrial Court did in caring for the sick.
Mr Keneetswe said though their efforts may seem like a small drop in the ocean, he strongly believed that it would make a difference to patients. He said the gift would address the needs of the patients and urged them to work non-stop and continue with their giving spirit. ENDS
