Assistant Minister of Education Skills and Development, Mr Moisiraele Goya has said the performance of learners in the Kgalagadi North Constituency and their subsequent failure rate is of concern to the ministry.

Answering a question in Parliament on Monday, December 8, Mr Goya said, as such, his ministry had put in place a detailed action plan since November 2013 to address the failure rate.

He said the plan included interventions to address issues of performance along with psyco-social issues, teacher training, career guidance and other factors which impact on performance.

Member of Parliament for Kgalagadi North, Mr Itumeleng Moipisi, wanted to know whether there was a concise action plan with time lines to address the failure rate in schools in the Kgalagadi North Constituency, particularly at Matsha Senior Secondary School. ENDS
